Our trip had a slow start due to some confusion around the departure time. Although we initially booked a 6AM trip and confirmed it the night before, the start was postponed to 7AM and then mistakenly thought to be at 8AM. Eventually, we set out around 7:40AM with Captain Caesar and his deckhand. Early fishing for larger species resulted in four powerful runs, but unfortunately the lines broke each time. Moving into shallower waters, we enjoyed catching Queen Triggerfish, Grouper, Jack, and Snapper. The day ended with a massive fish that we couldn’t bring in, so we had to let it go. Near the trip’s end, we ran out of fuel, but luckily a nearby panga provided gasoline, allowing us to head back safely. Despite the hiccups, it was an enjoyable day overall.
We had an outstanding time with Captain Miguel and his crew on the Christine 1. The trip began promptly with all necessary gear ready. Starting with bait fishing, the excitement escalated as four members of our group landed catches simultaneously. Complimentary water, soda, and beer were provided, along with a bathroom and a shaded area to stay protected from the sun. Captain Travis stayed in touch before our outing to confirm details and offer helpful instructions. I would definitely recommend this adventure and hope to return for another attempt at a trophy fish.
The fishing trip was truly remarkable. The promise of returning only after catching fish holds true. I brought my 8-year-old along, and during five hours of deep-sea trolling, we saw two separate sailfish – each weighing 100 to 150 pounds – aggressively strike our bait. Although no hooks set, it was thrilling. On our way back, spending an hour closer to shore, my son reeled in two large triggerfish, two yellow snapper, a barracuda, and an amberjack. Ending the day with six fish and witnessing the sailfish chase was unforgettable. Plus, there was nearly constant live bait fishing throughout the trip.
Travis and his team provided a professional experience from booking to the trip’s conclusion. My wife caught a trophy sailfish, and they assisted us with the mounting process. The whole experience was fantastic, and the crew made sure everyone had a great time.

You can cancel your booking without any charge if done at least 7 days prior to your scheduled trip, and the amount will be refunded to your account. If you cancel less than 7 days before the trip, the deposit will be lost to the guide. In case of cancellations on the day of the trip or if you do not show up, the full trip cost will be charged to your payment method.
A dock fee of $10 per person is required. Boxed lunches are available for $10 each. All rods, reels, and tackle are provided.

This fishing journey lasts between 4 to 10 hours, during which you'll explore either nearshore or deep offshore waters. Your targets include an exciting array of big game species such as Cobia, Cubera Snapper, King Mackerel, Mahi Mahi, Red Grouper, Red Snapper, Sailfish, Snowy Grouper, Swordfish, Tilefish, and Wahoo. Multiple fishing techniques are available, including heavy tackle, bottom fishing, trolling, jigging, and deep dropping. Simply tell Captain Travis your desired catch, and he’ll tailor the approach with expert advice and the ideal setup.
The trip takes place aboard Captain Travis’s 25-foot Panga, accommodating up to 4 anglers comfortably. Powered by a reliable 60 HP 4-stroke Suzuki engine, this boat is designed to fish harder than larger sport fishing vessels—at a more affordable price. It’s fully equipped with GPS, Fishfinder, snorkeling gear, a live bait well, multimedia system, outriggers, spearfishing equipment, and an icebox. Notably, it features a Lindgren-Pitman S-1200 electric fishing reel that employs advanced technology, allowing you to fish at depths ranging from 300 to 1900 feet.
Captain Travis supplies all the rods, reels, tackle, and live bait you’ll need. All you have to bring is a Cancun fishing license along with any food or beverages for the day. For added comfort and protection, it’s recommended to bring a hat, sunscreen, and polarized sunglasses.
