A big shoutout to Jonathan at Captain Experiences for connecting my family with Captain Mike and Deisy in Surfside Beach, TX. Right from the start, Captain Mike took us to where the fish were biting. We caught our full limit of red snapper, including an impressive 32-inch, 22-pounder! We even managed to free some kingfish. Our deep sea fishing experience was fantastic, and we look forward to our next trip. Mike was a top-notch guide and took excellent care of everyone.

We had a great outing catching sheephead and one big redfish. We will definitely come back for snapper season and use your services again. Respectfully, Mike from Missouri.

Captain Mike was wonderful with our children — very patient and relaxed even when some equipment was accidentally damaged. He took us to various fishing spots and made sure everyone had a chance to fish at their own pace.

Unfortunately, I have to share an extremely disappointing experience. Captain Mike contacted me just 20 minutes before our scheduled departure, citing light rain as a reason for delay while he was still at home. We waited at the departure point while other boats left early. He eventually arrived two hours late and we left around 10 AM. The trip was advertised as an "Up to 50 Mile" excursion, but we only went about 24-28 miles. Much of the trip involved circling around with minimal fishing. After a few hours, we returned to fish near the bay for about 45 minutes before heading back.

Upon returning, Captain Mike refused to accept payment via the provided QR code and insisted on a direct payment of $1650. We had already paid a deposit and service fee, and stood firm on following the instructions given. He insisted that his wife, who acted as a deckhand, needed to be paid separately in cash. While she was pleasant and received a good tip, the confusing payment situation left a bad taste. I will not be booking with Captain Mike again. His reluctance to operate in light rain or his apparent laziness soured the experience. My son-in-law’s first offshore trip lasted about 5 hours instead of the expected 8, and he only caught two snappers. Other captains with higher costs were departing on time while we waited for our captain.

Captain Mike eventually showed up late and left Surfside around 10 AM. This will be my last time booking with him.

Roy, thanks for sharing your feedback. We are working closely with our guides to better familiarize them with Captain Experience's QR payment process for smoother transactions. It seems there was also a lack of clear communication regarding the presence of a deckhand, which we regret. We have offered you a discount for a future trip and hope you will consider giving us another chance.
