Captain Shaun grew up fishing in the San Diego area, cultivating his passion from a young age. His fishing journey started with weekend trips to Chollas Lake and Lake Jennings alongside his father, where they enjoyed freshwater fishing. At ten years old, Shaun was introduced to saltwater fishing thanks to his uncle’s sportfisher boat, and from that moment, he was hooked. After enduring the loss of his father to brain cancer in 2018, following his uncle’s passing a few years prior, Shaun was reminded of the importance of living life fully and pursuing the things you love. Motivated by his deep passion for fishing and a desire to create lasting memories for others, he earned his 6-pack Captain’s License and has been guiding fishing trips ever since.
With over 15 years on the water, Captain Shaun is highly knowledgeable about boats, prioritizes safety, and runs a welcoming, family-friendly sportfishing experience. He is excited to provide you with a memorable day on the water that could easily check off a bucket list item!

Deposits made for this excursion are non-refundable, except in cases where the trip is canceled due to weather conditions. If you cancel on the day of the trip or fail to show up, the full cost will be charged to your card.

During this trip, you'll explore picturesque shallow waters at Point Loma, Mission Bay, and La Jolla. Target a variety of species including Barracuda, Calico Bass, California Sheephead, Lingcod, Rockfish, Sculpin, Vermillion Snapper, and Yellowtail Amberjack. Depending on your preferences, Captain Shaun will help you fish using light tackle, heavy tackle, bottom fishing, or trolling techniques. If you have a preferred fishing style or a specific species you want to catch, just share your goals with Captain Shaun and he’ll tailor the trip to suit you.
The fishing takes place aboard a 30-foot Blackman Billfisher, accommodating up to 4 guests comfortably. Powered by a 200 HP Volvo Penta engine, this vessel easily navigates San Diego’s beautiful waters. It is equipped with a GPS, Fishfinder, Flybridge, Live Bait Well, and an Ice Box for storing your catch. For added comfort, the boat also features a restroom, bed, kitchen, refrigerator, and a multimedia system, making you feel at home while you fish.
Captain Shaun provides all necessary fishing gear including rods, reels, bait, tackle, ice, light snacks, and bottled water. Guests need only bring a valid California Fishing License (for ages 16 and up), along with sunglasses, sunscreen, a hat, and any desired food or beverages. A cooler is available onboard to keep your provisions fresh throughout the trip.
