Prepare yourself for an exhilarating inshore fishing adventure with Captain Aaron, operating out of Nags Head, North Carolina! Whether you're in for a fast morning session or aiming to end your beach day with some rewarding afternoon fishing, Captain Aaron offers half-day excursions departing at 7 AM or 2 PM. These trips are designed to deliver excitement, flexibility, and excellent catches in the stunning waters of the Outer Banks.
The focus of these outings is the inshore flats and adjacent waters where you’ll target prized species such as Spotted Seatrout and Redfish (also called Drum). Should conditions be favorable and the fish active, you may venture just beyond the bridge to pursue fast-moving Spanish Mackerel and Bluefish, known for their aggressive strikes on lures and ability to add an electrifying element to your fishing experience.
On the water, surprises are always possible. One memorable family experienced this firsthand when, while trolling for Bluefish during a half-day trip, they landed an impressive 93-pound Cobia just 300 yards off the beach. This massive catch was the largest Captain Aaron had witnessed in ten years, proving the Outer Banks hold incredible fishing potential beneath the surface.
You’ll fish aboard a beautifully renovated 30-foot 1990 custom Carolina Alex Willis performance boat, originally crafted in 1990 and upgraded in 2025. Powered by a 350 HP Yamaha engine capable of reaching speeds up to 40 knots, this vessel offers both speed and maneuverability, ideal for navigating the shallow Pamlico Sound and surrounding areas. Features include a flybridge for sight fishing or sightseeing, GPS, fishfinder, live bait well, and an ice box to keep your catch fresh.
Captain Aaron’s top priority is making sure fun leads the way. With his extensive knowledge of the ever-changing conditions around Nags Head, you’ll always be positioned in the best spot at the perfect time. Whether you’re an experienced angler or casting for the very first time, he customizes each trip to match your abilities and goals, gladly sharing expert tips and techniques throughout the journey.
All bait, tackle, and fishing licenses are provided. At the conclusion of your trip, the crew will clean and fillet your fish, leaving you free to relax. Just remember to bring along snacks, drinks, sunscreen, a hat, sunglasses, a camera, and a cooler to take home your fresh catch. If fishing during colder months, dress warmly for comfort.
Gather your family or friends and enjoy authentic Outer Banks fishing with a captain who knows these waters inside and out. Book your trip today and prepare to make unforgettable memories—and maybe even your own legendary fish story—with Captain Aaron!
