Captain Kenny is a lifelong resident of Pensacola with deep roots in fishing and hunting throughout the Florida Panhandle. From a young age, he would head out every afternoon after school carrying his cast net, fishing rod, and a five-gallon bucket to explore the local waters. Weekends were spent with his grandparents in Molino, Florida, where he enjoyed hunting and fishing along the Escambia River. Over the years, Captain Kenny has competed in numerous tournaments, ranging from local bass clubs to speckled trout, shark, and king mackerel events, including the prestigious Alabama Deep Sea Fishing Rodeo, where he consistently performs well. His experience began as a deckhand on boats in Orange Beach before transitioning into commercial fishing. Now, he is eager to share his expertise and passion for the outdoors with you and your family.
Captain Kenny holds a USCG 100-ton Captain’s License, which reflects extensive time spent on the water, ensuring your safety and confidence during every trip. You can cancel your booking at no cost if done at least 14 days prior to your trip and the amount will be credited back to your account. If you cancel within 14 days before the trip, your deposit will be retained by the guide. Cancellations made on the day of the trip or failure to show up will result in a full charge to your card for the entire trip amount.
Rods, reels, and tackle are all provided for your convenience. However, we suggest bringing sunglasses, sunscreen, clothing suitable for the weather, and any personal gear you'd like to use during the trip.

For bottom fishing enthusiasts, Pensacola’s offshore artificial reefs are a prime destination. These reefs are popular spots for catching Grouper, Snapper, Triggerfish, and various other bottom-dwelling species. Amberjacks, known for their tenacious fighting spirit and often called reef donkeys, are also found around these reefs, offering an exciting challenge for anglers. Additional species such as Sharks and Cobia commonly inhabit these reef areas as well.
Florida takes the lead nationwide in developing artificial reefs that significantly enhance bottom fishing opportunities along its coastline. This extensive network of man-made reefs has greatly boosted recreational fishing throughout the state.
Artificial reefs are located off nearly every Florida coastline along the Atlantic Ocean and Gulf of Mexico. In Escambia and Santa Rosa counties—which include Pensacola, Gulf Breeze, Pensacola Beach, Navarre Beach, and Perdido Key—there is a well-established system of these productive reefs.
Constructed mainly from shipwrecks and durable concrete structures like culverts, pilings, and bridge platforms, these reefs are strategically placed by barges at locations ranging from less than one mile up to over 30 miles offshore. The complex, firm surfaces of these materials create an ideal habitat for a variety of small bottom-dwelling organisms such as coral, shellfish, and crustaceans, which in turn support larger species all along the food chain. This includes highly sought-after fish like multiple types of grouper and snapper, as well as sharks, barracudas, cobia, and amberjacks.
