As Angel expresses it, "Fishing is a privilege, and we want future generations to have the same chance to catch the fish we enjoyed, perhaps even a bit bigger."

To book your trip, simply provide your desired date, number of guests, trip duration, and start time, then join Captain Angel on the water!

"We had a wonderful time aboard the boat. Although we didn’t catch any fish, it was still a delightful ocean ride." — Trey from Captain Experiences replies, "Glad you enjoyed the outing, though I understand how frustrating it is when the fish don’t bite. I’m grateful we could discuss this privately and look forward to a more successful trip next time."

"Our guide Shag was fantastic—friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. Everyone caught tarpon, and my 13-year-old son described it as one of his all-time best fishing moments!"

"Thank you for choosing to fish Puerto Rico with us. We look forward to welcoming you back!"

"We had two boats out, both landed tarpon over 70 lbs. Everyone enjoyed plenty of action. A truly great experience!"

"An amazing morning with our captain! We highly recommend this experience!" — We've enjoyed having you fish with us and hope to see you back targeting tarpon soon.

"Our outing was enjoyable, although we had some issues with fishing lines getting tangled. We caught a few small fish towards the end. I’d suggest improving the visibility of your signage from the road."

"The crew took us out despite the rough seas, but the fishing was tough. We never got a bite and had to return early due to sickness caused by high waves. Unfortunately, the captain requested full payment despite the poor conditions. Having been on hundreds of charters, this was my worst experience by far, and I wouldn’t recommend it." — Trey from Captain Experiences responds, "We regret that the trip did not meet your expectations. Winter weather can be challenging, and we discussed options like rescheduling or choosing more sheltered spots prior to departure. Ultimately, your group chose to proceed, and when conditions proved uncomfortable, we offered alternatives. Safety is always our priority. After the trip, I spoke with you to provide a partial refund and will continue working to align expectations before every trip."

"Shag and his dog Marley were outstanding. We arrived first at the prime fishing spot, and Shag worked tirelessly by chumming and resetting lines. My two friends and I all caught large tarpon. He was generous with drinks and kept the mood light with great jokes and conversation. I’d fish with Shag again in a heartbeat."

"Captain Adrian and the first mate did an excellent job—much respect! Thank you for choosing us for your Puerto Rico fishing adventure."

"Captain Shag was incredible, putting us on fish immediately. He shared valuable tips and was very knowledgeable about the local area. We would definitely book with them again. Communication and support throughout were excellent."

"Although Captain Angel suggested starting at 6 am, the captain arrived late and our trip didn’t begin until nearly 7 am. We were told tarpon feed best between 6 and 7 am, so the delay was disappointing. We only caught one small barracuda. Given the cost, the trip felt overpriced, especially for just four hours. Despite reaching out to Captain Experiences with our concerns, we have yet to receive a reply." — Joy, thank you for your feedback. We apologize that this trip fell short of expectations. We have refunded your trip and hope to welcome you back for a better experience.

"A fantastic night trip with tarpon and snapper, plus the beauty of a peaceful evening on the water. Highly recommended!"

"We had an excellent event, catching many different species. Luis was outstanding, staying with us until dark to help land a big tarpon. I’ll always seek out Luis and his crew when I’m in Puerto Rico."

"Captain Angel and his crew worked hard to put us on fish, even though the fishing didn’t pan out. A special moment was when Captain Angel baited a rod for my 7-year-old grandson, who thrilled at reeling in a tarpon—an experience he talked about all evening. Thank you, Captain Angel!"

"One of the worst fishing experiences I’ve ever had. We rented two inshore boats for four hours each and caught nothing. The captains showed little effort, giving us an ‘it is what it is’ attitude. It felt like a complete waste of money." — As outdoor enthusiasts at Captain Experiences, we understand how disappointing zero catches can be. We’ve offered a discount for a future trip, hoping the next experience will be much better.

"Despite rough conditions, we had an amazing time. We hooked a marlin over 400 lbs but unfortunately lost it near the boat. Regardless, the day was fantastic."

"A beautiful day on the water with stunning views of Old San Juan. The boat was fully equipped, and the captain and mate worked seamlessly. Great gear, a stocked cooler, and fish on the line—what more could you ask for?"

Join Captain Angel for an exciting 4 to 8-hour fishing excursion targeting inshore waters around Loíza, renowned as one of the premier Tarpon fishing destinations globally. During this trip, you’ll have the chance to fish for the impressive "Silver Kings," as well as encounter species like Snook, Jack Crevalle, and Spanish Mackerel.

Your adventure will take place in the Torrecilla lagoon, a key habitat for these inshore giants. This lagoon is part of a network of six interconnected lagoons around San Juan, linked by mangrove channels, and collectively ranked among the top five Tarpon fishing spots worldwide. Captain Angel’s expert local knowledge will guide you to the hotspots where the fish are biting.

Tarpon are known for their spectacular aerial displays, leaping vigorously from the water to put on a thrilling show. Whether you prefer rod and reel or fly fishing, you’ll face a challenging fight with these powerful fish, some weighing over 100 pounds. Factors like tides, weather conditions, and moon phases influence Tarpon behavior, but these voracious predators are always eager to strike at both live and artificial baits. These ancient fish are caught and released, offering a rare chance to engage with a truly captivating sport fish. One catch is often enough to spark a lasting passion for these prehistoric fighters.
