Hi, I'm Matt, the owner and captain of our fishing charter business. We provide expert fishing guide services on Oregon’s Columbia River and the Pacific Ocean. Our trips target species like Salmon, Sturgeon, Walleye, and Bottom fish. In the fall, we also run crabbing excursions departing from Astoria. Since my high school days working on a bird hunting ranch, I’ve been passionate about guiding. I’ve held a Coast Guard license since 2007 and bring over 25 years of combined experience in fishing, guiding, and hunting. Rest assured, you’re in capable hands. Throughout my adult life, I’ve guided countless anglers and hunters, and I find great joy in helping people land their dream catch or trophy. Patience and care are cornerstones of how I treat each client. My goal is to create lasting memories and friendships through these outdoor adventures.
Apart from fishing, I work as a hunting consultant, assisting clients in finding and planning their perfect hunting trips. When I’m not busy guiding, I enjoy spending quality time with my wife and two children, who share a love for the outdoors. Teaching the next generation essential outdoor skills is something I’m truly passionate about. I’m also flexible regarding your trip’s starting location to better accommodate your needs.
Here’s what one happy client had to say:
“Matt is fantastic! His fishing expertise is top-notch, and his friendly, positive attitude made for an unforgettable day on the water. Highly recommended!” - Jeff

Our salmon fishing excursions in the Portland area take place on the scenic Columbia and Willamette Rivers. During these trips, we troll using flashers and a variety of baits to specifically target salmon. Conveniently located restrooms are available onshore for your comfort.
If requested in advance, we can provide lunch for your trip, along with snacks and beverages to keep you refreshed throughout the day.
Each trip can be tailored to meet individual preferences and needs. While the weather and water conditions are generally calm, we recommend bringing appropriate clothing and rain gear to ensure your comfort.
The Portland region boasts stunning landscapes and offers diverse fishing opportunities. In addition to salmon, anglers can also pursue sturgeon and walleye in these waters.
Many days here feature excellent fishing with mild to warm temperatures, plenty of sunshine, and calm conditions. This creates an ideal setting for a relaxing and enjoyable day on the water.
