Your Guide: Chris A.

About Your Guide

Captain Chris has dedicated his life to fishing, with experience ranging from the fresh waters of Ohio's Great Lakes to the vibrant saltwater environments of the Gulf of Mexico. His fishing journey started in Ohio, where he learned freshwater techniques from his father and grandfather. After relocating to Brownsville, saltwater fishing quickly became his passion. Beyond just acquiring fishing skills, Chris inherited a love for teaching others, helping them discover the same excitement and satisfaction he finds on the water. This dedication continues today as he shares his knowledge with his three daughters and two grandchildren, instilling in them a respect for conservation.

Fulfilling a lifelong ambition to be a fishing guide, Captain Chris now delights in helping clients catch their first fish or their hundredth. Operating a small charter service, he places great importance on customer care, welcoming every guest aboard like family. Guests consistently enjoy comfortable, unforgettable trips, often returning with a cooler full of fresh catches. The thoughtfully provided bean bag chairs make cruising out to deep waters relaxing and even perfect for a quick nap.

Many rave about their trips with Captain Chris, praising the friendly and skilled captain and deckhand, the entertaining atmosphere, and memorable fishing moments. Whether targeting sharks or other big game, safety is a priority, ensuring a fun and secure adventure. Even in challenging conditions like high winds, Chris’s expertise keeps the action going when others struggle.

A half-day excursion with Captain Chris truly embodies a perfect start to the week, and many look forward to booking longer overnight trips in the future. With his passion, experience, and warm hospitality, Captain Chris guarantees an exceptional fishing experience every time.

You can cancel without any charges up to 7 days prior to your scheduled trip, and the amount will be credited back to your account. Recommended Packing:

☑ Valid Fishing License (Age 17+)
Make sure anyone aged 17 or older has a current fishing license before arriving at the dock. We have encountered situations where people forgot or were unaware of the requirement, which can delay fishing time.

☑ Motion Sickness Prevention
If you’re prone to seasickness, or even if you haven’t experienced it before, consult your doctor about motion sickness remedies. There are effective over-the-counter options available, but it’s best to get professional advice to choose the right one for you.

☑ Daily Prescription Medications
Bring any medications you need for the day in a waterproof container. We recommend packing extra doses in case of accidental drops or unexpected delays returning to shore.

☑ Small Cooler
Please have a cooler ready in your vehicle, pre-filled with ice, to keep your catch fresh during the trip home.

☑ Food and Drinks
Bring snacks and lunch in a soft-sided cooler—avoid glass containers. Good choices include sandwiches, crackers, or cold fried chicken. For fruit, opt for items that won’t stain the boat’s white surfaces, such as apples or bananas. Avoid berries and oranges that may cause stains. Quick, easy-to-eat foods will let you get back to fishing faster!

☑ Sun Protection
Be prepared with sunblock, polarized sunglasses, a hat, cooling towels or bandanas, neck gaiters, lip balm, lightweight long-sleeve fishing shirts, hand towels, and rain gear to protect yourself from sun and weather conditions.

☑ Non-Slip Footwear
Wear non-marking, water-friendly shoes or sandals to ensure safety and comfort onboard.

☑ Camera
Don’t forget your camera, GoPro, or smartphone—fully charged—to capture your fishing memories.

☑ Cash
Carry some cash to tip the deckhand for helping with cleaning, bagging fish, and assisting throughout your trip.
