Fishing with Captain Joel and his mate Eric was an excellent experience. Despite slower fishing conditions following recent storms, they were determined to help us catch plenty of Snapper. On a near-shore 6-hour trip with Captain Joel, we fished past Sombrero Reef for yellowtail snapper and had great success. We also targeted bottom-dwelling groupers and later chased permit and yellow jacks near the Seven Mile Bridge. Wrapping up the day near a sunken ship, we caught snappers and groupers alike. The Ol’ Captain was a true gem—offering an unparalleled Keys fishing adventure. Even out of season, we caught more fish than we could eat for days. Throughout the trip, Captain Joel ensured everyone was having a blast. The six-hour trip seemed like mere minutes thanks to the lively atmosphere. First mate Cap Eddy was incredibly attentive, making the entire experience unforgettable.
