About Your Guide

Known affectionately as Capt. Flounders, Captain Mike is a veteran angler with a genuine passion for fishing. He is committed to delivering outstanding fishing adventures suitable for anglers of every experience level. Whether you're casting a line for the first time or you’re a fishing veteran, Captain Mike strives to make each excursion enjoyable, fulfilling, and truly unforgettable. His enthusiasm for the sport shines through everything he does, from choosing prime fishing locations to imparting valuable tips to his guests.

Having spent his childhood navigating the rich waters of Lake Pontchartrain, Biloxi Marsh, and nearby regions, Captain Mike possesses an intimate knowledge of these unique environments. His love for fishing took root early in life and has blossomed into a lifelong dedication to mastering the craft. With fishing in his blood, Captain Mike proudly continues the legacy established by his grandfather, a seasoned charter captain. The many hours he spent learning the trade alongside his grandfather have equipped him with deep insights into the particular challenges and rewards of fishing along the Southeast Louisiana coastline.

Over the years, Captain Mike has earned widespread respect for his expertise and commitment. His impressive track record in numerous local fishing tournaments throughout Southeast Louisiana highlights his talent and strategic acumen. He has a keen understanding of local weather trends and tidal patterns, which are essential for ensuring a productive fishing trip. Even before boarding, he carefully assesses environmental variables to optimize your chances of success.

From pinpointing the ideal fishing spots to adapting tactics based on changing conditions, Captain Mike’s experience is the cornerstone of a rewarding outing. If you’re seeking a guide with a rich familial heritage, deep regional knowledge, and a fervent love for the sport, Captain Mike is the perfect choice. His dedication to creating an enjoyable and thriving fishing experience guarantees unforgettable memories on the water. Whether your goal is speckled trout, redfish, or flounder, he’s ready to help you land those prized catches and enjoy every moment.

Captain Mike and Captain Chris provided an excellent outing, managing to get us on the fish despite some challenging early morning conditions. Our day on the water was enjoyable, and we managed to bring home eight fish to clean, including spotted trout and white trout. Although I hoped to catch sheephead and redfish as well, they weren’t biting that day. A memorable moment was encountering a small stingray—an exciting first for me—though of course, we released it back safely.

Having fished with numerous guides, I can confidently say Captain Mike is highly professional throughout the experience. He was punctual, efficient, and productive, exceeding our expectations without any pressure. Even during the off-season, he helped us fill our limits, and we were enjoying fresh-caught fish less than half an hour after returning to the dock. Thank you, Captain Mike!

We also booked a trip with Captain Mike for a bachelor party, and it was an absolute hit. We landed plenty of fish, shared plenty of laughs, and created some great memories. Without a doubt, we will be reserving another trip with Captain Mike in the near future.
