My childhood was filled with memorable fishing excursions from our camp on Lake Pontchartrain. Louisiana’s waters boast an extraordinary variety of fish, and over the years, I discovered that sharing these experiences with others is truly rewarding. There’s nothing quite like witnessing a young angler hook fish after fish or seeing a seasoned fisherman land their first Redfish. After serving in the infantry during the early 2000s, I spent 15 years working in sales, where I honed my skills in delivering exceptional customer service. For the past seven years, I have been a full-time fishing guide in the Rigolets region of Lake Pontchartrain.
My current vessel is a 25-foot Bluewave bay boat, often praised for its cleanliness and spacious deck. What really differentiates me from other guides is that I don’t simply follow the crowds or depend on other fishermen’s tips. I find the best fishing spots through my own knowledge and avoid relying on radios or phones to locate fish, steering clear of popular community fishing areas as much as possible.
Outside of guiding, I enjoy spending quality time with my wife and two boys. When you book a trip with me, you’ll receive clear and detailed communication about what to expect, along with an open conversation about your personal goals for the outing. My mission is to make every trip unforgettable and truly special.
“Fantastic experience! If you’re uncertain about which guide to choose, Captain Drake is highly recommended. I look forward to booking more trips with him in the future!”
You can cancel your booking without any fees if you do so at least 14 days prior to your scheduled trip, and the amount will be credited back to your account. If you cancel within 14 days of the trip date, your deposit will be non-refundable and retained by the guide. For cancellations made on the day of the trip or if you do not show up, the full trip cost will be charged to your payment method.
We provide all rods, reels, and tackle for your convenience. However, we suggest you also bring sunglasses, sunscreen, clothing suited to the weather, and any personal equipment you'd like to use during the trip.
The half-day trip is especially popular during the warmer months. Mornings offer the best fishing conditions, so we’ll take advantage of the early bite before temperatures climb and then head back in. Travel time to the fishing spots will be between 15 and 30 minutes. You’ll have the chance to fish in the stunning lakes near New Orleans, including Lake Catherine, Lake Pontchartrain, and Lake Borgne.
