Captain Jarad is an expert in Florida fly fishing and light tackle excursions, targeting a wide variety of species such as Tarpon, Snook, Redfish, Permit, Bonefish, Triple Tail, Jack Crevalle, False Albacore, Barracuda, Snapper, Peacock Bass, Clown Knife Fish, and Large Mouth Bass. His enthusiasm for fishing is infectious, and he customizes each trip based on the angler's skill level and preferences. While his home waters near Jupiter, Florida—especially the Loxahatchee River—are renowned for world-class Snook and Tarpon fishing, he often explores areas like Biscayne Bay, Everglades National Park, and the Florida Keys aboard his 18-foot Chittum Skiff.
Born and raised in Australia, Captain Jarad is not only an engaging guide but also passionate about sharing his extensive knowledge of the sport. Don’t miss the chance to hear his captivating fishing tales, which include summers spent in Kona, Hawaii, hunting for giant Blue Marlin weighing over 1,000 pounds, as well as experiences fishing throughout New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Ghana, Bermuda, Ocean City, Maryland, Cape Hatteras, the Florida Keys, Texas, the Bahamas, Turks and Caicos, the Virgin Islands, the Dominican Republic, Brazil, Panama, and Costa Rica.
In 1998, he was part of a team that set an IGFA fly tackle record by releasing five Black Marlin in a single day. Later, in 2005, he contributed to a successful Bermuda Triple Crown campaign by helping the owners of a 58-foot Jarrett Bay yacht make the journey from Hatteras to Bermuda. One notable Blue Marlin from that effort weighed an impressive 1,023 pounds. The following year, he competed with Cristal Clear in the Billfish Extreme Release League, a tournament aired on ESPN, where his expertise propelled the team to a runner-up finish over a seven-month competition.
More recently, Captain Jarad has traveled to Nova Scotia pursuing Giant Bluefin Tuna, achieving over twenty releases of these massive fish weighing up to 1,200 pounds. Over his career, he has been involved in the release of 153 Marlin ranging from 700 to 1,300 pounds, including 25 that surpassed the 1,000-pound milestone.
