Hi, I’m Captain Jeff, and I’ve spent more than 30 years fishing along the Florida Panhandle. I currently offer guided trips from Panama City, concentrating on the tranquil waters of St. Andrew’s Bay. These sheltered inshore spots provide calm conditions, making for a pleasant experience without the worry of seasickness. Families with children are always welcome aboard. My focus is on pursuing popular local species such as Redfish, Speckled Trout, Flounder, and Tarpon during their respective seasons. Whether you’re a beginner or just want a peaceful day on the water, I’m dedicated to ensuring your outing is enjoyable, comfortable, and productive. Expect a relaxed atmosphere with some light instruction and plenty of fun. Discover the beauty of Panama City’s fishing opportunities—you’re guaranteed to have a memorable adventure. Friendly guide, good with kids; I wish the boat had a cover and the bait was larger, but we chose to fish during summer… He did his best given the extremely hot weather and challenging conditions. Many thanks!
You can cancel without charge if done at least 14 days prior to your travel date, and the amount will be credited to your account. We provide all rods, reels, and tackle for your convenience. However, we suggest bringing along sunglasses, sunscreen, weather-appropriate clothing, and any personal gear you'd like to use during the trip.
Get ready for an exciting day on the bay with Captain Jeff, a knowledgeable local who knows these waters inside and out. Whether you're new to fishing or an experienced angler, Capt. Jeff’s relaxed approach and expert understanding of the tides will quickly have you fishing like a seasoned local.
You’ll have the chance to catch a variety of popular inshore species such as Flounder, Redfish, Speckled Trout, along with seasonal favorites like Black Drum, Sheepshead, Mangrove Snapper, Spanish Mackerel, Bluefish, and more, depending on the season. Fishing will involve both live bait and artificial lures, with much of the trip spent drifting in calm, shallow waters using light tackle—perfect for increasing your chances of landing a catch. The fishing spots are typically just a 30-minute ride from shore, making it a comfortable trip suitable for both kids and adults, with little risk of seasickness.
Captain Jeff operates a 20-foot Skeeter bay boat, ideal for maneuvering shallow inshore areas while providing a smooth and stable experience. The boat accommodates up to three passengers, making it a great option for couples, small groups, or parent-child pairs. All fishing gear including rods, reels, and tackle is supplied, as well as live bait—just coordinate with the captain if you want to catch your own.
Families are warmly welcomed aboard, and children are encouraged to participate in the adventure. If you're bringing young anglers, be sure to ask about the availability of child-sized life jackets. Feel free to bring snacks and drinks, with moderate alcohol consumption allowed—please avoid glass containers and hard liquor. Some beverages are provided, but you can notify Captain Jeff in advance if you want to bring your own cooler.
Your fishing license is included in the trip, and Captain Jeff will guide you through all current seasonal regulations regarding legal catch limits and species. At the end of the day, he will clean and bag your catch, leaving you with nothing to bring but sunblock (non-spray preferred), polarized sunglasses, and a positive attitude.
With tranquil waters, excellent fishing opportunities, and a friendly, knowledgeable guide, a bay fishing trip with Captain Jeff offers an authentic Texas coast experience you won’t forget.
