A Message from Captain Cameron W.
Hello! I’m Captain Cameron W., originally from Hatteras Island. My love for fishing began early, fishing alongside my father on his offshore charter boat in the beautiful waters surrounding Hatteras Island, NC. At just 10 years old, I got my first boat—a 16-foot Carolina Skiff—which gave me the opportunity to explore and learn the local waters, including the Atlantic Ocean and Pamlico Sound.
By the age of 16, I had embarked on my fishing career as a first mate on the Cap’n Clam, a popular inshore head boat based at ODEN’S DOCK. Those summers were spent fishing with many different people, each teaching me something valuable. I also gained offshore experience aboard the Miss Hatteras, targeting pelagic species and bottom fish. Back then, fishing was more of a summer gig since I was also attending East Carolina University.
When I turned 20, I worked as first mate with Captain Rick aboard the Free Agent. From early May to mid-June, I focused on sight casting for cobia, honing my skills and expanding my knowledge of inshore fishing. Our fishing grounds spanned from Portsmouth Island to Rodanthe, NC, with the Free Agent offering both inshore and offshore charters. Every day brought something new, targeting a wide variety of fish from inshore species to pelagics.
In 2015, I decided to take the leap and started my own inshore charter business. Growing up with a successful captain as a father made this path a natural choice. After six seasons of running my own charters and helping countless clients land unforgettable catches, I’m eager to share the incredible fishing experience that Hatteras Island, NC has to offer with new guests.

You may cancel without any charges if you do so at least 14 days prior to your scheduled trip, and the amount will be credited back to your account. If cancellation occurs within 14 days of the trip, the deposit paid to the guide will not be refunded. Cancelling on the day of the trip or not showing up will result in the full trip cost being charged to your payment method.

These half-day excursions are available from 7am to 11am or from 12pm to 4pm. Both time slots offer excellent fishing opportunities, with the choice depending on the season and your preference for an early start.
The boat, a 25-foot Custom Carolina designed by Ricky Scarborough, is powered by a 2018 Suzuki 250 four-stroke outboard engine. It’s equipped with advanced Garmin electronics and a Fusion Marine Audio system for a premium experience. Most importantly, all charters feature top-of-the-line Penn Fishing gear to maximize your catch.
This Custom Carolina-style boat is an ideal platform for fishing around the Outer Banks. It includes a custom tower built specifically for targeting Red Drum and Cobia. The vessel’s high bow enables safe fishing in the Atlantic Ocean, while the Porta Bracket facilitates access to the shallower waters of Pamlico Sound. The Tradition, a 25-foot center console boat crafted by Ricky Scarborough in 2018, offers an exceptional fishing experience powered by a reliable 250 hp Suzuki engine. This vessel is designed for serious anglers seeking performance and comfort on the water. Equipped with advanced amenities such as GPS, a Fishfinder, a Tower with Shade Top, and a Live Bait Well, it ensures you stay on top of the best fishing spots while remaining protected from the sun. The multimedia system and ice box add convenience for longer trips. While there is no onboard restroom, The Tradition is perfect for thrilling day trips filled with successful catches and enjoyable cruising.
