About Your Guide

For Captain Tommy, fishing and exploring the natural beauty of Florida go beyond simple interests—they are lifelong passions. Being a third-generation resident of Tarpon Springs, he possesses an intimate knowledge of the waters surrounding Pinellas and Pasco Counties. From a very young age, Captain Tommy was guided by some of the state’s most respected fishing experts. With over 15 years of experience in professional fishing and charter guiding, he has built upon their teachings to hone his own expertise, offering clients memorable and successful fishing adventures.

Captain Tommy’s profound understanding of saltwater fishing has earned him top placements in numerous renowned tournaments targeting both inshore species and billfish. His extensive travels have taken him to exceptional fishing spots across the Pacific and Atlantic Oceans, yet his greatest connection remains with the southern Florida waters. Here, he skillfully targets a variety of inshore game fish such as Tarpon, snook, redfish, spotted seatrout, cobia, bonefish, and permit.

Specializing in big tarpon fishing—including fly-fishing—in the shallow waters of Pinellas County and the famed Boca Grande area, Captain Tommy offers unparalleled expertise. He holds the prestigious 100 Ton USCG Master’s License, the highest credential available to fishing guides, awarded after accumulating thousands of hours of time on the water. The entire experience was fantastic, complemented by excellent weather conditions.

Imagine standing on the bow, fly rod in hand, surrounded by crystal-clear sand flats and a school of giant migrating Tarpon. Few experiences in sport fishing rival the thrill of targeting these magnificent fish with a fly rod. Known for their incredible power and acrobatic leaps, Tarpon evoke a unique and indescribable feeling that stays with you long after the catch.

As the apex predators of their inshore environments, landing a Tarpon is truly a once-in-a-lifetime adventure. You'll engage in pure fly fishing techniques, which are demanding but make every strike and hookup all the more rewarding.

Tarpon behavior varies based on the season, water conditions, and lunar phases. This makes the expertise of Captain Tommy essential. He ensures you’re equipped with the perfect fly patterns and offers valuable guidance to enhance your presentation, retrieve, and hookset—boosting your chances of landing a trophy-sized fish.

The west coast of Florida plays a critical role in the migration route of these "Silver Kings," thanks to its abundant bays and river systems. In fact, this area has been the site of multiple world record catches, conveniently close to where you’ll be fishing. So get ready, and cast your line into some of the most fertile Tarpon grounds in the world!
