Hello, I'm Captain Gage, a native of Tarpon Springs, Florida. I've been fishing these local waters since childhood, inheriting valuable knowledge, prime fishing spots, and proven techniques passed down through generations. I operate an Ankona Shadowcast 18 equipped with a tunnel hull, which allows us to access even the narrowest sight fishing areas where we target redfish and snook. For nighttime excursions, we utilize a trolling motor to quietly explore deeper canals, focusing on dock lights that attract tarpon and snook.
When tarpon season arrives, we head out to the flats in pursuit of these impressive silver kings, some of which can exceed 100 pounds. We’re excited to welcome you aboard and can accommodate flexible departure locations to suit your needs.
One of my clients shared their experience after a full-day guided fly fishing trip with me, highlighting my in-depth knowledge of the region and how I helped them land numerous fish. They appreciated my patience, kindness, and the tips I provided to improve their casting skills. It was a memorable outing, and they highly recommend my guiding services. They’re already looking forward to booking another trip with me in the future.
Cancel your booking at no cost if done at least 14 days prior to your trip, and get a credit applied to your account. We provide all rods, reels, and tackle for the trip. However, we suggest bringing sunglasses, sunscreen, clothing suitable for the weather, and any personal gear you'd like to use.
My name is Capt. Gage, and I guide fishing adventures through the crystal-clear waters of Tarpon Springs and nearby areas on my 18’ Ankonia Shadowcast. We specialize in sight fishing for red drum, snook, tarpon, and a variety of other species that we come across. Our gear includes 9-foot fly rods, ranging from 6wt to 11wt, selected according to the target species and the season.
A typical outing begins with launching from a carefully chosen spot, preselected for the day’s conditions. From there, we engage in sight fishing, often spotting fish in just a few feet of water or less. To maximize your experience, be sure to bring a quality pair of polarized sunglasses to clearly see the fish below the surface.
Along the way, you'll also have the opportunity to observe local wildlife, including sea turtles, manatees, and a diverse array of birds. We provide onboard coolers to keep your lunch fresh and cold. The boat is outfitted with a comfortable twin seating arrangement, accommodating two passengers with ease.
The fall and spring seasons are particularly productive due to the seasonal transitions that encourage great fishing opportunities.
We look forward to welcoming you aboard soon!
