Trolling for active fish is Captain James’ favorite fishing method, though he’s also adept at guiding clients to catch different types of bottom fish. One recent trip with Captain James was nothing short of spectacular. A client visiting for a wedding decided to head offshore and booked a charter. Captain James stayed in regular contact leading up to the trip, sharing updates about kingfish activity in the area.
They started the day by fishing around the St. Marys jetties, gathering baitfish near the buoys to troll. Although a few other boats were present, none had found success as the kingfish weren’t biting. Undeterred, Captain James took them to one of his favorite snapper locations where every cast resulted in a catch. If you cancel within three days of the trip, your deposit will be retained by the guide. Canceling on the day of the trip or failing to show up will result in a full charge of the trip amount to your payment method.
