A lifelong Floridian, Captain Rick developed his love for fishing in the Everglades, casting his first line for Bass as a child. On one trip, we landed over 20 largemouth bass. Our morning started with purchasing bait followed by a meeting at the boat launch. Important tip: bring cash to pay the captain.

Hi Barb, this is Attison from Captain Experiences. We're sorry to hear your trip rated only three stars. It’s great you caught plenty of fish, but it seems some other aspects of the experience didn't quite meet expectations. We've reached out privately to discuss further.

Outstanding day with Captain Rick and his first mate on a full-day adventure. We reeled in seven fish and kept six. Despite the hot weather, we were the only ones returning with a successful catch. After the trip, Captain Rick kindly cleaned the fish for us. Without a doubt, he’s the best captain in the area, working hard to deliver the fishing experience you desire. Thanks to Rick and his crew!

Unfortunately, we had a disappointing deep sea fishing charter. We booked a 10-hour trip but only ventured about 5 miles offshore. After a few hours, the captain started heading back, and we had to remind him about the duration of our trip. We then stayed just a mile out from shore. The boat operates with a single engine, and the fishing rods seemed outdated, plus we only used cut bait throughout. We arrived back at the harbor nearly 45 minutes early. The captain's unfriendly behavior toward the deckhand also made things awkward. This charter is the lowest-priced option for a reason—many won’t return after this experience. It felt like the captain lacked genuine care for the trip.

Hi Ryan, this is Attison from Captain Experiences. Our priority is to locate fish and offer you the best chance for an enjoyable trip. Sometimes that means fishing far offshore, other times closer in. While we're sympathetic to the fishing being less fruitful than hoped, a few points need clarification. Captain Rick uses new Trinidad gear, not decades-old rods as mentioned. The boat does have a single 370 horsepower Yanmar engine, which is clearly stated in the trip details. Additionally, the captain had to address your inappropriate remarks toward the female deckhand; it also appeared you arrived intoxicated and continued drinking during the trip. Moderate drinking is acceptable, but behavior that makes staff uncomfortable is not. Lastly, you docked 15 minutes early on a 10-hour trip, and we refunded $100, equivalent to 10% of the fee for under 3% of the trip time.

Enjoyed a great outing and caught some fish, thanks to Captain Rick. Due to scheduling and weather constraints, our trip was limited to one day, and conditions weren’t ideal. Still, Rick adapted, recognized the safety limits for going out far, and worked diligently to put us on fish despite the challenges. We didn’t catch a large quantity, but we did catch enough, and Rick’s efforts were much appreciated.
