Since my middle school years, I've been fishing around Flamingo and throughout the Florida Keys. My passion for fishing began back in elementary school, and over time, I honed my skills and expanded my knowledge as an angler. Initially, I started by catching bluegills close to home, gradually setting my sights on more challenging game fish.
I'm eager to share my love for fishing and offer an unforgettable experience exploring the Everglades. I operate my charters from an 18'4" Maverick HPX-Varis, equipped with a 115 HP Yamaha SHO engine. This boat is my preferred choice for several key reasons. It offers ample space, allowing anglers to bring along their gear comfortably without overcrowding the deck. The stability of the vessel ensures easy and safe movement onboard, minimizing the chance of accidents.
Additionally, the large livewell is perfect for keeping bait like live mullet, shrimp, ladyfish, and crabs fresh throughout the trip. The reliable 115 HP Yamaha 4-stroke engine delivers a smooth ride between fishing spots, helping maximize time spent on the water. Despite its size, the boat can still reach very shallow waters, opening up many excellent fishing opportunities. Your guide can accommodate your preferred starting location as well.
Tyler was fantastic! He’s a genuinely friendly person with deep knowledge of fishing in the Everglades. We connected with multiple tarpon and enjoyed fresh mangrove snapper that Tyler skillfully cleaned, making for some delicious fish tacos that evening. I highly recommend Tyler for anyone seeking a memorable and unique fishing adventure in the Everglades!

Create lasting memories in Everglades National Park by fishing with Captain Tyler.
Depending on the conditions, you may catch species such as Redfish, Snook, Tarpon, Tripletail, Jack Crevalle, Blacktip Shark, Lemon Shark, Mangrove Snapper, Sheepshead, Spotted Seatrout, and more. Light tackle bottom fishing is commonly used for these fish. Fly fishing is also available, though you might need to bring your own fly gear. For experienced anglers, Captain Tyler’s preferred method is sight fishing.
Families and children are warmly welcomed to join the adventure! Be sure to check in advance about the availability of child-sized life vests or bring your own. Remember to pack snacks; however, Captain Tyler will have some refreshments available on board.
Your fishing trip will take place on an 18-foot Maverick flats boat, which can comfortably hold up to three passengers. The boat comes fully outfitted with rods, reels, tackle, and lures. Live bait is included, but it’s recommended to verify whether you will be catching it during your excursion.
The charter fee includes your fishing license, so you can focus entirely on the fun. Note that certain fish species may need to be released in compliance with regulations—your captain will provide guidance on this. Don’t forget to bring non-spray sunblock and sunglasses. Drinks are provided, and moderate alcohol consumption is permitted, excluding hard liquor and glass containers. Light snacks are also supplied on board.
