Captain Kurt started this business driven by his love for fishing in the Lake Erie area. With over two decades of experience fishing not only here but across North America, he is convinced that Lake Erie and its tributaries rank among the best fisheries worldwide. Join him for a trip to enhance your fishing skills and experience the full range of what this wonderful region has to offer. My friend and I had an amazing experience! The lodging was excellent, and our guide was fantastic at providing tips and had an in-depth knowledge of the river system.

Please bring rain gear, layered clothing, gloves, hats, and sunglasses. Feel free to bring your own fly fishing equipment, including waders and boots. We will supply an ice box, rods, reels, flies, and tippet. Lunch will also be provided.
Kurt offers expert guided flyfishing excursions on some of the most bountiful waters across the Lower 48 states. The abundance of fish during the fall and winter months makes these trips more about savoring your time on the water with great company—rest assured, the fish will cooperate!
Your fishing location will vary depending on seasonal timing and water conditions. Kurt and his team strive to tailor each trip to your preferences and specific requests. Water levels and rainfall significantly influence fish movement and which tributaries are most productive. Fortunately, Kurt and his guides fish these waters daily, keeping a close eye on fish patterns and water status to guarantee you’re casting in prime spots.
Additionally, Kurt has access to numerous private water sections available for an extra fee when conditions are favorable. These exclusive leases and properties offer fishing in less pressured waters, meaning fewer anglers and more aggressive fish. Such options are discussed shortly before your trip, and while there may be a minor additional rod fee, it’s well worth the benefits.
Guided steelhead trips accommodate one or two anglers per guide, but Kurt also excels at hosting larger groups, including fly fishing clubs and corporate outings.
Be sure to bring your waders—Kurt strongly advises inspecting them for any cracks or holes before your trip. Also pack rain gear, layered clothing (including gloves and winter hats if needed), sunglasses, and personal fly fishing gear if you prefer. While Kurt will provide rigged rods and all necessary flies, he welcomes clients bringing their own equipment as well.
