Captain John offers flexible meeting locations to suit your needs. He's known for being an excellent guide with a well-maintained boat that can quickly reach the daily catch limits, often in under an hour, and then return to the dock for cleaning. Some guests find the 41 steps both ways challenging, as it can be tough for those with knee issues—my wife especially had a hard time going down, though I managed better going up. Still, the boat ride was fantastic, and my wife landed the biggest fish of the day. We appreciate the understanding about the steps, and were grateful to be in the right spot to catch plenty. Thank you for choosing to fish with me; I’m happy you got a taste of how rich Lake Buchanan’s fishery is. Hopefully, next time I can arrange a pickup point with fewer or no steps. Our trip with Captain John was incredible! He’s a true professional who knows exactly where to find the fish, even when conditions aren’t ideal. We hooked a diverse mix—striped bass, white bass, drum, and catfish. Every one of our group of six caught multiple fish, making for a fun and successful day. Captain John even filleted our catch right at the dock so we could enjoy fresh ceviche that same evening. I highly recommend booking with him for a top-notch fishing experience.

You can cancel without any fee if done at least 10 days prior to your scheduled trip, and the amount will be refunded to your account. If you cancel within 10 days before the trip, your deposit will be retained by the guide. Cancelling on the day of the trip or failing to show up will result in a charge of the full trip cost to your payment method.
We provide all rods, reels, and tackle for your convenience. However, we suggest bringing sunglasses, sunscreen, clothing suitable for the weather, and any personal gear you wish to use during the trip.
Join Captain John for a 7:00 a.m. trophy fishing trip lasting 4 hours, targeting Striper, Hybrid Striper, and White Bass. All bait and tackle are included, so you only need to bring your own food, snacks, drinks, a fishing license, and weather-appropriate clothing. Once you're prepared, we’re ready to set off!
Please ensure your children have their own life vests, as Captain John may not have the right size for them. Adult life vests will be provided.
