The initial payment for this journey cannot be refunded unless the cancellation is due to weather conditions. If you cancel on the day of the trip or fail to show up, the total remaining amount will be charged to your card.
It’s strongly advised to bring a cooler stocked with water or electrolyte drinks to stay hydrated during the heat. Additionally, packing sunscreen and hats is a smart way to protect yourself from the sun.
Captain’s Choice offers an exciting charter experience that starts with 1 hour of light tackle trolling, followed by 4 hours dedicated to shark fishing — a perfect adventure for families to enjoy together!
Our dock is conveniently located behind Dewey Destin’s on the harbor. We share a parking area with Luther’s Pontoon and Dewey’s. On the day of your trip, please park all the way down the hill near the water, where parking is free, so we can efficiently load everyone and their gear.
We suggest bringing your own drinks, snacks, and sunscreen since the weather can get quite warm. Don’t worry, the boat is equipped with air conditioning and a restroom for your comfort.
Departure time is 5:30am sharp. We recommend arriving a few minutes early to complete sign-in and load your equipment onto the boat smoothly.
During the first hour, we fish with 3-4 rods while steadily cruising along the beautiful Emerald Coast. As we troll lures through the water, you’ll enjoy an amazing sunrise and potentially spot dolphins. Our primary targets include king mackerel, Spanish mackerel, and bonitas. This style of fishing is light, easy, and enjoyable for anglers of all ages, with recent mornings producing great bites.
Next, we head just under a mile offshore—only about a 10-minute boat ride—to our shark fishing spot. We drop anchor and begin chumming the water with shark carcasses from previous catches. We set out three shark rods at different depths: one on the bottom, one mid-water, and one floating on top. Once everyone is settled, we also deploy bottom fishing rods to target snappers, triggerfish, and more while waiting patiently for the sharks to arrive.
When a shark takes the bait, we quickly reel in the other rods, attach the poly ball to the anchor, and engage in a dynamic fight that allows us to follow the shark’s movements and control the battle effectively.
