If you’re ready to pursue world-class tuna off Cape Town’s coast, this offshore fishing trip offers an unforgettable deep-sea adventure. Steered by Captains George and Warren, both experts familiar with these waters, you’ll enjoy a well-organized expedition focused on safety, expertise, and excellent service.

Your journey begins early with a run up to 40 nautical miles offshore, aiming to reach prime tuna habitats near Cape Point. These expeditions venture into true bluewater territory, where factors like temperature changes, seabirds, and baitfish activity hint at where the tuna are thriving beneath the surface.

The species you may encounter vary depending on the season and can include Yellowfin Tuna, Albacore (Longfin), Bigeye, Bluefin, and Yellowtail. Techniques range from trolling to drift fishing, spinning, jigging, popping, or even bottom fishing, adapting to conditions and fish behavior each day. Light and heavy tackle options are provided, and for the more daring, spearfishing is available. While catches depend on environmental factors, the crew strives to maximize every angler’s opportunity.

The fishing vessel is a 30-foot Titan 300EC sportfisher designed for both comfort and performance, accommodating up to six passengers. Equipped with GPS, fishfinder, radar, and a live bait well, the boat is fully fitted for serious offshore fishing. Onboard amenities include a private electric-flush toilet, a bed, kitchen area, refrigerator, and an ice box to keep your catch fresh.

All rods, reels, tackle, and lures are supplied. When conditions allow, the crew may stop to catch live mackerel bait, adding to the day’s excitement. Drinks are included, and you’re welcome to bring your own non-alcoholic beverages in plastic containers. Lunch is served soon after departure, with special dietary requests accommodated upon advance notice.

Families and children are warmly welcomed, with appropriately sized life vests available upon request. Don’t forget to bring snacks and sun protection for a comfortable day on the water. Each angler will need a local fishing license, which the crew can assist you in obtaining. Note that certain species may be subject to regulations or require specific tags depending on the season.

Fishing off Cape Point offers a true offshore experience with long journeys, vast open waters, and the chance to target some of the ocean’s most prestigious game fish. Captains George and Warren lead a knowledgeable team committed to providing a safe, professional, and memorable fishing adventure.
