Step aboard Captain Ray’s 20-foot SeaCraft for a customized inshore fishing adventure designed for up to two anglers. This versatile vessel excels in shallow waters under three feet deep, yet is equally capable of handling the occasional rough seas typical of New England. Whether you prefer fly fishing for cruising stripers or using light tackle around structures, this boat is engineered to quickly and efficiently get you to the best fishing spots.
Operating mainly in the calm waters of Buzzards Bay and near the Elizabeth Islands, Captain Ray focuses on light tackle and fly fishing for species such as striped bass, bluefish, false albacore, and bonito. These areas feature a blend of flats, rips, and rocky shorelines, offering excellent habitats for targeted fishing. When fish occupy shallow waters, the chance for sight casting makes for thrilling, visually rewarding strikes that will keep your adrenaline high.
Seasonally and weather permitting, you can venture to deeper waters to pursue bottom-dwelling species including black sea bass, scup, fluke, and occasionally cod. These trips provide variety and a great opportunity to catch delicious fillets for your cooler.
The 20-foot SeaCraft is ideal for this style of fishing—agile, fast, and designed for easy access to shallow areas. With just two anglers aboard, you’ll enjoy ample space to cast and move without restriction, making it perfect for fly fishermen or anyone seeking a personalized, intimate fishing experience.
Trips are offered as half-day or full-day excursions from April through November, contingent on weather and seasonal fish activity. All trips come equipped with premium rods, reels, light tackle, live bait, lures, and fly fishing gear upon request. Captain Ray also handles your fishing license and cleans your catch at day’s end for your convenience.
If you desire a focused, small-group outing exploring some of southern New England’s most abundant inshore fishing grounds, a trip with Captain Ray provides an exceptional option.
