I relocated to the Keys at the age of 21, after spending most of my life fishing and living in Florida. For many years, I worked aboard lobster and stone crab boats before deciding to pursue a more traditional career. Despite this change, my passion for the water and fishing never faded. Now, I’m thrilled to be back doing what I love and sharing that passion with others. As the saying goes, if you do what you love, you never truly work a day in your life—that’s the goal! Welcome to the KEYS!

Today’s inshore fishing trip was fantastic, thanks to our guide Captain Jason who really put us onto the fish! We caught a great variety including Yellowtail Snapper, Schoolmaster Snapper, Mangrove Snapper, Triggerfish, Strawberry Grouper, Amberjack, Yellowjack, and Porgy. We even had some grouper bites, though a few managed to break us off by running into the reefs. It was a perfect day out on the water, topped off by watching dockside Tarpon and Nurse Sharks while we fished. Truly a fun and memorable experience!

Jay’s expertise and upbeat attitude made the trip even better. Taking my nephew along, Jay proved to be an extremely helpful guide. As my nephew put it, “Don’t ask to catch big fish, because you will!” We had an unforgettable time, with Captain Jason skillfully adjusting our location and gear to ensure success. Whether mangrove snapper or snook, we came away with plenty of catches. The great conversations and camaraderie were just as enjoyable as the fishing itself.

Both beginners, we felt completely comfortable and well taken care of. Jason even cleaned our fish and suggested a top-notch local restaurant that prepared our catch beautifully. Without a doubt, we’ll book another trip with Jason in the future. His deep knowledge of the area, warm personality, and seamless command of his vessel guaranteed an incredible day.

Jason is a consummate professional and an expert angler who truly understands the Keys’ waters. Whether you are a novice or experienced fisherman, you’ll be in excellent hands. I wouldn’t hesitate to join him again for another fishing adventure. He’s friendly, insightful, and an engaging storyteller.

Our group, which included a range of fishing skill levels, had an amazing time and returned home with plenty of fish for dinner — a solid 10/10 experience. Despite less-than-ideal weather, Captain Jason kept us on the bite with a variety of catches, both large and small. He’s great company, in firm control of his boat, and a wonderful conversationalist. Definitely a guide worth returning to.
