About Your Guide

I’m a third-generation native of Indian Rocks Beach, Florida, with a lifelong passion for fishing. Having participated in and won numerous tournaments, my background includes commercial and charter fishing. Spending time on the water every day is crucial for understanding fish behavior and patterns, and I maintain this dedication even when off the clock.

In Tampa Bay, the Tarpon is one of the most prized catches, and it’s definitely my top choice during the summer months. My early fishing experiences were shaped by time spent with my father, who was deeply involved in tournaments and spear fishing. His guidance played a big part in my success on the water.

When booking a trip, I offer flexibility regarding the departure point to best suit your needs.

We had an incredible experience with Jake as our guide. He was extremely patient with my 6-year-old granddaughter, making the trip enjoyable for everyone. I highly recommend him. We managed to catch several fish and even spotted numerous dolphins throughout the day — an all-around fantastic outing.

Reflecting on our adventure, I’m sure luck played a role, but Captain Jake’s skill truly made the difference. He prepared his own bait, found us fish right away, and ensured we had a memorable time. We caught six different species on light tackle, including Spanish mackerel, catfish, and blacktip sharks, which was incredible. Later, switching to heavier gear, we hooked a hammerhead shark, more blacktip sharks, and capped the day with an unforgettable 150-pound Tarpon — a dream come true, thanks to Jake.

I can’t recommend him enough. Jake is highly experienced, takes his work seriously, and balances professionalism with a friendly, approachable demeanor. If you’re planning a fishing excursion, don’t hesitate to choose Captain Jake.

Thank you so much for the kind feedback! Looking forward to seeing you on your next trip!

Jake was outstanding — knowledgeable, personable, and capable of putting us on great fish. We wholeheartedly recommend him!
