The 4 to 6-hour nearshore fishing adventure with Capt. Ethan takes you to the open waters of the Gulf of America. The journey to the initial fishing spot typically lasts between 15 to 30 minutes, depending on the sea conditions.
There will be no mate on board—just Capt. Ethan and the clients. A cooler stocked with ice and cold water is provided, while guests are welcome to bring their own snacks and beverages for the trip.
This nearshore fishing experience offers a taste of offshore or deep-sea fishing but closer to land. It’s an ideal choice for those hoping to catch fish for dinner. In contrast, inshore fishing takes place within the protected intracoastal waterways, where many fish species are catch-and-release only.
No matter your skill level or enthusiasm for fishing, Capt. Ethan ensures a memorable outing for you, your family, or friends. Known for his patience, he is happy to assist and teach anyone looking to improve their fishing skills.
During the nearshore trip, you’ll fish over natural hardbottom habitats and artificial reefs, targeting species such as snapper, grouper, cobia, Spanish mackerel, flounder, kingfish, seabass, and other nearshore varieties. A mix of live and cut bait is primarily used to attract and catch these fish.
