Embark on an unforgettable backcountry fishing adventure through the stunning Charlotte Harbor backwaters with Captain Scotty! This guided trip takes you through the twisting mangrove islands and shallow grass flats along the Peace and Myakka Rivers, offering a calm yet exhilarating experience suitable for anglers at any skill level.

With years of expertise navigating these waters, Captain Scotty knows exactly where to find the fish and how to put you right on the action. Anglers will target a diverse range of species, highlighting Redfish, Snook, Mangrove Snapper, and Spotted Seatrout as the prime catches of the day.

Redfish, also called Red Drum, are among the most reliably caught species throughout the year here. These fish often "tail" in the shallow grass flats, providing thrilling sight-fishing opportunities. Snook present a greater challenge—they are notorious for their swift, powerful runs and spectacular leaps when hooked. Most active in the spring through fall months, these silver racers tend to bolt towards cover, requiring quick reflexes and skillful handling.

Mangrove Snapper, a local favorite especially cherished by Captain Scotty’s wife, may be modest in size but pack a punch in their fight and flavor. Known for their feisty nature, they rank among the best-tasting inshore fish you can catch. Meanwhile, Spotted Seatrout are commonly found patrolling flats and drop-offs year-round, providing ample fun and abundant opportunities to anglers.

Fishing takes place aboard Captain Scotty’s meticulously maintained 18-foot Hewes Bayfisher, an original Bob Hewes design updated extensively in 2018. Powered by a Yamaha SHO 115hp engine, the boat features a Sea Star hydraulic jack plate and a Minn Kota trolling motor, allowing for stealthy navigation through tight, shallow waters. For convenience and safety, it comes equipped with live wells, a Lowrance GPS/fishfinder, marine VHF radio, and USB charging outlets to keep your devices ready for capturing memories.

All tackle and gear are thoughtfully provided, including premium Penn Spinfisher VI and Senator reels paired with Redbone and Star rods. The setups are rigged with Owner hooks and Berkley lines and leaders, ensuring your equipment performs flawlessly throughout your trip.

Simply bring your hat, sunglasses, snacks, drinks, and a positive spirit. Prepare for a rewarding day immersed in some of Florida’s most picturesque and productive fishing spots. Captain Scotty is eager to guide you, share insider knowledge, and foster a lasting appreciation for these breathtaking backcountry waters—one cast at a time.
