Although Lake St. Claire is not officially one of the five Great Lakes, it is an integral part of the Great Lakes system, linking Lake Huron to the north with Lake Erie to the south. The lake has an average depth of just 11 feet but offers an abundant freshwater fishery, home to Bass, Perch, Pike, Muskie, and many other species.

Fishing for multiple species typically requires varied techniques to increase your chances of success. On this trip, you'll employ slow-trolling tactics for Walleye, which prefer fast-moving lures near the lake bottom, alongside light tackle cast-and-retrieve methods to target Smallmouth Bass. While Bass are generally released after catching, Walleye are renowned for their delicious taste. Captain Tom is happy to clean your catch right at the dock—just remember to bring a cooler to take your Walleye home.

You’ll fish from a 24-foot cuddy cabin boat, perfectly suited for this type of fishing. Powered by a 220-HP Ford V8 engine, the boat gets you out on the water quickly and efficiently. It also features a cozy cabin with comfortable seating, ensuring a fun and enjoyable day on the lake.

Captain Tom comes fully equipped with everything needed for an outstanding fishing trip. All you need to bring is appropriate clothing, your Michigan fishing license, and a great attitude!
