About Your Guide

Aaron earned his Master’s degree in Accounting from Texas A&M in 2008. Following 14 years of experience in both public accounting and private equity, he chose to retire before fully reaching his financial goals to become a full-time hunting and fishing guide. Currently, he resides in Oxford, MS with his wife and two young children, where he offers crappie fishing excursions throughout the year.

He is flexible regarding the starting point of your fishing adventure. Clients have had exceptional experiences catching large crappie with his guidance. Many have reported catching only fish above the minimum size limit, with some measuring around 14 inches and weighing over 2 pounds each. One memorable trip resulted in a full limit by mid-morning, creating unforgettable moments alongside Aaron and Captain Andy.

Families especially appreciate his ability to engage children; one parent shared how Aaron kept their 7-year-old son entertained during a full day at Enid Lake. They caught numerous fish, including a massive 35-pound blue catfish and a personal best crappie, while exploring various fishing methods such as trolling, jug fishing, and live scoping. After the trip, Aaron carefully cleaned the catch, sending the family home with a cooler full of fresh fish.

While experiences are mostly positive, a few noted that preparation can occasionally be inconsistent, mentioning an incident where dead batteries cut a session short without extra fishing poles available. Nevertheless, Aaron’s overall reputation remains strong, and many recommend him for those seeking a rewarding and enjoyable fishing excursion, particularly for families with young kids.

Guests praise Aaron’s knowledge and friendliness, noting that he handles the technical aspects of fishing like a pro or allows visitors to take control of the equipment themselves. One guest described an outing as a "peak life experience" shared with his 89-year-old grandmother and wife, highlighting the trip as an unforgettable success.

Another customer praised JJ, one of Aaron’s team members, for his skill in locating trophy fish even under challenging conditions, as well as educating guests on using live scope technology. Aaron’s meticulous planning ensures smooth, trouble-free trips, earning him loyal customers who consider him more than a guide, but a friend.

Experience guided crappie fishing adventures in North Mississippi, renowned as the home of the 3-pound crappie. Fish three of the nation’s premier crappie fisheries: Sardis Lake, Grenada Lake, and Enid Lake. Target primarily black and white crappie using cutting-edge electronics, including LiveScope and Side Imaging, along with various techniques such as pushing or pulling crankbaits, spider rigging, slow trolling, casting, jigging, and live bait fishing.

Mississippi boasts some of the finest crappie fishing worldwide. Notably, the world record white crappie was caught just below Enid Lake, weighing over 5 pounds. Our trophy crappie fishing trips offer you the opportunity to catch your personal best papermouth, white perch, or sac-a-lait. Along with the chance for trophy catches, you’ll enjoy plenty of action with eating-sized fish. We observe catch limits strictly — all crappie 12" and under must be released, so legal fish start at about 12.5", with a daily limit of 15 crappie per angler and 40 per boat.

Trips typically begin at daybreak and last for 4, 6, or 8 hours. Everything is provided for a hassle-free experience, including an expert guide, boat, bait, tackle, rods, fish cleaning, snacks, and drinks. Your only job is to arrive ready to fish and enjoy an outstanding day on the water!
