Herman, your dedicated guide, landed his first Steelhead at the young age of twelve. What started as a simple pastime during his youth gradually grew into a deep passion. Raised in the Pacific Northwest, Herman has experience fishing nearly every river stretching from southern Oregon to northern Washington, giving him an intimate understanding of the distinctive fishing environments found in this region.
In addition to his local expertise, Herman spent five years guiding anglers on Alaska’s Chosen River and still returns annually to enjoy the exceptional fishing opportunities there. After achieving success in the commercial finance industry, he was finally able to devote the time, energy, and resources to share his love of fishing with others.
Herman holds a Coast Guard certification as an Operator of Uninspected Passenger Vessels (OUPV), allowing him to safely take up to six passengers on inland waters. To ensure your safety and peace of mind, he is also CPR certified, bonded, and fully insured, reflecting his professionalism.
Known for staying current with the latest fishing techniques, using premium equipment, and adapting each trip to suit the skill level and preferences of his clients, Herman has earned a reputation as one of the premier guides in the Pacific Northwest. Regardless of the season or weather, he consistently brings in impressive catches, providing an authentic and memorable Northwest fishing experience.
Every outing with Herman is more than just a fishing trip—it’s an adventure. Past guests describe their experiences as awesome, fun for the whole family, engaging, and well worth repeating.

We will be targeting Chinook and Coho Salmon using trolling techniques with both bait and spinners. Our fishing adventures take place mainly in the bay, with occasional trips out into the ocean. Besides salmon fishing, we also harvest Dungeness Crab by pulling crab pots.
Please come prepared with light rain gear and either boots or waterproof Gore-Tex shoes. I supply all the fishing gear and bait needed for the trip; however, lunch and fishing licenses are not provided. You can easily purchase a one-day fishing license online at myodfw.com. To manage your license conveniently, set up a profile and download the myODFW app from your mobile app store to have it readily accessible on your phone.
