Some unique catches included Lizardfish, Remora, and Blowfish, which were sometimes used as bait for the bigger fish we sought later.

Returning to the artificial reef near a sunken ship, we set out to catch large Amberjack in 80 feet of water. The guides displayed remarkable coordination and expertise, switching tactics quickly and effectively. They offered precise bait choices until they struck the perfect one to “switch on” the Amberjack. We soon reeled in some massive specimens, huge enough to amaze anyone familiar with fishing.

One unforgettable moment was when my wife battled the day’s biggest Amberjack—a thrilling fight lasting several minutes. Just as the fish neared the boat, two enormous sharks appeared and took dramatic bites out of it. The stark, cartoon-like bite marks amazed us all. Despite the feeding frenzy, the guides safely landed the fish, and we released it back, creating a spectacular wildlife display we’ll never forget.

The journey back was equally impressive, with encounters featuring dolphins, sea turtles, and other fascinating marine life. The guides then cleaned and labeled all our fish, enhancing our appreciation of the day’s catch.
