Hello, I’m Captain Dave. My fishing journey began in Wisconsin, where I spent my early years angling on Lake Michigan, catching jumbo perch from a small 12-foot rowboat. Shortly after finishing high school, a friend introduced me to the thrill of trout and salmon fishing. This sparked my passion, and I soon sought opportunities working with some of the best charter captains in the region. By 2010, after three seasons serving as a first mate, I earned my captain’s license. The upcoming 2025 season will mark my 19th year in the charter fishing business!
Over the years, I have built strong connections with local anglers and commercial operators, gaining extensive expertise in pursuing Great Lakes salmon and trout. Each outing is a unique experience, filled with excitement and discovery. I have a deep love for nature and enjoy a variety of outdoor activities including hunting, fishing, camping, and hiking. Outside of the fishing season, during fall, winter, and spring, I work as an educator in a nearby school district.
It’s a true joy to share my knowledge and enthusiasm for Lake Michigan with all who join me on the water. If you’re interested in learning how to set up your fishing gear during your trip, just let me or my first mate know. We’re happy to customize your adventure to match your goals. After all, this is your journey, your holiday, your memorable fishing experience!
Captain Dave and First Mate Quinn were fantastic hosts! They were incredibly knowledgeable and welcoming, making us feel like old friends. Capt. Dave’s excitement each time a fish took the bait added so much energy to the trip. We highly recommend them for anyone looking for an outstanding charter experience.
Thank you so much for the kind words, Becky! We truly enjoyed our time with you and hope to fish together again soon!
