About Your Guide

A Message from Your Captain: Everyone reaches a point in life when they discover their true passion, and for me, that moment came years ago. Fishing was once my entire world, but over time, I realized what truly excites me isn't just catching fish—it's sharing the experience with others. Don’t get me wrong, I’ll keep fishing as long as I can, but after doing it for so long, the thrill shifts. What reignited my enthusiasm was taking my younger brother and sister, and later my own kids, on fishing trips. Witnessing their first panfish, their initial bass or walleye, their first time wading in a river, or the exhilarating sound of a salmon reel screaming—and even watching a steelhead leap from the water—those moments of pure joy on their faces are unforgettable.

Each time I guide someone new, I get to experience that excitement all over again. That realization led me to turn guiding into my career. Several years ago, I became a licensed New York State Guide, specializing in fly fishing and center pin fishing with my clients. Float fishing on the Niagara River became like a second home to me. Besides guiding, I’ve always loved taking my boat out regularly—whether it's enjoying summer nights chasing walleye with friends and family or drifting for salmon and trout through the cooler months. Fishing this river has truly brought me happiness.

In the fall of 2020, I took the United States Coast Guard Master Captain’s Course, cementing my commitment to this path. This is what I want to devote my life to, and I promise to work tirelessly to ensure your trip with us is unforgettable. I take pride in maintaining a modern, well-equipped boat and prioritize the safety of everyone on board. I’m eager to meet new people, embark on this exciting chapter, and help create lasting memories together.

Best Regards,
Captain Joe

“Captain Joe was incredible and knows exactly how to find the big ones! Fishing with you both was a fantastic experience. Despite a cold, windy morning, the afternoon bite was absolutely amazing. Wishing you safe travels home and hoping to see you again soon.” Cheers, Captain Joe

Our fishing charters offer both half-day and full-day trips, with full-day excursions lasting 6 hours. We limit each trip to a maximum of 3 clients per boat to ensure a personalized experience. All rods, reels, bait, and tackle are supplied, but clients must bring a valid New York State fishing license. Appropriate clothing for the weather, including rain gear, along with snacks, food, and drinks are essential. Before boarding, all participants are required to sign a waiver, regardless of the trip length.

For those opting for half-day sportfishing trips, Joe suggests bringing your preferred snacks and beverages. On full-day charters, he recommends packing lunch along with additional snacks and drinks to stay nourished and hydrated throughout the day.

Joe is dedicated to fishing year-round and particularly enjoys the transitional periods between warm and cold water, when fish are especially active. Target species include Bass, Walleye, Salmon, Steelhead, Brown Trout, and Lake Trout. Though all fishing gear is provided, clients are welcome to bring their own equipment if they prefer. Each person aboard will receive a Type 1 life jacket, with usage mandatory during certain times of the year, especially in winter. Coldwater fishing is exhilarating but must be approached with safety as a priority.

You will fish from a 2019 Lund 2175 Pro V Limited, powered by a 350 horsepower Mercury Verado L6 Supercharged engine. The boat measures 21 feet 10 inches in length and 8 feet 6 inches in beam width, capable of speeds up to 65 mph. Renowned for reliability, Lund boats paired with Mercury outboards are trusted by experienced guides across the United States.

The vessel offers a smooth and comfortable ride, featuring elegant charcoal bow carpeting and removable sea deck mats over a vinyl floor for easy cleanup after fish-filled days. Clients are shielded from wind by the walkthrough windshield on chilly days. The boat includes live wells at both the bow and aft, a high-pressure washdown station, and four Pro Ride limited seats. This setup provides a roomy and stable platform even in rough conditions.

A valid New York State fishing license is mandatory for anyone participating in fishing activities aboard the boat. While most fishing gear is included, clients must supply their own licenses. New York State Sportfishing Licenses are available online. For those wishing to fish on both sides of the Niagara River, Lake Erie, and Lake Ontario, obtaining a Canadian fishing license is also advisable.

Fishing trips operate throughout the year, so dressing suitably for colder months is vital for comfort and success. Water and windproof outerwear, along with wool socks and insulated waterproof boots, will help maintain warmth and dryness. Quality hats and gloves are also recommended to prevent heat loss and maintain finger dexterity.

If you decide to keep your catch, Joe will gladly clean and filet the fish for you. Please bring your own gallon-sized Ziploc bags and a cooler with ice to ensure your catch stays fresh on the journey home. While catch-and-release is encouraged to help sustain the fish populations, clients are welcome to keep fish—consider releasing half of your daily limit to support conservation efforts.

We uphold a strict zero-tolerance policy for drugs on board, including marijuana. Despite its legality in New York State, we frequently travel through Canadian waters where possession is prohibited and poses risks to everyone onboard, especially the guide. Alcohol consumption is allowed only in moderation and at the guide’s discretion. Anyone found intoxicated will be asked to leave immediately. The safety of all passengers remains Joe’s top priority.
