In hindsight, our day could have been much better if we had fished Lake Fork. My guide seemed far more familiar with that lake, knowing prime spots and which lures the bass were biting. Having that level of local expertise is exactly why you choose a particular guide. I wish I had done more research before booking my trip.

I took you out to the offshore flat that was showing plenty of fish, but you didn’t fully commit—you barely left your seat and only dropped your Texas rig brush hog straight down a few times. I’m well-versed in Lake Fork as well as other nearby lakes—in fact, I wouldn’t guide there otherwise. I spend countless hours fishing solo to maintain this knowledge. From my perspective, you didn’t seem to try very hard since you were casting only about 20 feet from the boat. You had several bites but missed them. I’m sorry you felt the way you did."
