Reflecting on our recent trip, it would have been more rewarding to fish Lake Fork. The guide we had was clearly more familiar with that lake, which was evident in the locations and bait selection. These are crucial factors when choosing a guide, and I should have done more research beforehand. Despite the challenges that day, Jay had taken us to a productive offshore flat teeming with fish. Unfortunately, there was limited effort from my side, and I didn’t fully take advantage of the opportunities presented. Captain Jay was fantastic. He immediately guided us to fish, and we landed many bass. I’m keen on booking another trip with him.

Unfortunately, my experience was not positive. I wouldn’t recommend him and feel he deserves no stars. He ignored my requests to fish on the right side of the boat, which led to multiple snags. Even his son was argumentative with me. Jay’s goal is to teach, but that is difficult when directions are disregarded.
