When our original guide canceled, Marty was assigned, and although he lived over an hour away, he even offered to pick us up for some gas money. The whole experience was unforgettable—the best guided fishing trip we have ever had.

We stuck to inshore fishing, targeting reds and flounder, and even caught a few sharks along the way. We landed several Spanish mackerel, though we lost plenty too, including one big one that took all our line. Marty also shared interesting history about the bay and fishing traditions. Afterward, he cleaned our catch, had a restaurant prepare a meal from it, and kindly gave the leftovers to the dock workers. Without a doubt, Marty is the finest guide we’ve encountered, and we look forward to fishing with him again—perhaps earlier in the season when it’s cooler.
