Although I wasn’t guided by Captain Chris himself on my trip, he arranged for Levi to take us out, and our fly fishing journey was exceptional. Despite the river being busy with families on spring break, our guide led us to some outstanding large trout. It turned out to be one of my best fishing experiences in a long while, with my biggest catch measuring 20 inches.
Chris’s expertise made the trip highly educational and productive, consistently placing us in front of hungry fish. I highly recommend booking a session with him. This was my second trip with Chris, this time bringing a friend along for a fantastic half-day guided by Zach and Austin—perfect for even the most novice anglers.
During another enjoyable half-day on the river with Chris, we hit the hotspots quickly and had a very successful outing. Though I was concerned about severe weather, Chris kept me well-informed in the days leading up to the trip, and everything went smoothly. This journey is ideal for those eager to try fly fishing for the first time—I look forward to returning.
With Chris and Kit as guides, we were taken to a secluded, fish-filled spot away from the crowded areas. It was my first experience with fly fishing, and after learning the casting technique from them, we were reeling in trout in no time. Had I been fishing in the region again, I would not hesitate to book with them once more—they made it incredibly enjoyable.
The weather was beautiful, the guide exceptionally knowledgeable, and I caught my very first fish—all reasons I highly recommend this experience with a perfect rating.
We had an unforgettable fly fishing day! Our guide was not only fun and personable but also filled with useful tips that made us feel like seasoned anglers, despite being beginners. He knew the prime fishing locations, maintained a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere, and taught us on the go without making it feel like a lesson. We caught some impressive fish, captured great memories in photos, and laughed throughout. For anyone seeking a fun and memorable day on the water, this is the perfect choice.
Captain Chris is a patient and experienced angler and instructor. Our morning fishing trip with him was wonderful, and we also had a great experience with Zack from his team. Neither my companions nor I had fly fished before, but Chris’s guidance and expertise made it effortless and exciting. He is a top-notch guide who expertly handled every aspect of the outing.

Captain Chris brings extensive expertise to the Lower Mountain Fork River, having first explored these waters in 2007 after fishing some of the world’s top rivers, from Banff to the Appalachians. The adventure begins with a serene drift along the river in a 16-foot drift boat, where you’ll cast from the bow as Captain Chris navigates through prime sections of the river.
