Captain Charlie is well-acquainted with the local fishing spots, including docks, passes, oyster beds, mangrove islands, creek mouths, and grassy flats where fish often gather. Being a full-time guide allows him to spend the majority of his time on the water, continuously honing his skills to benefit his clients.
Our trip was fantastic! Captain Charlie kept us engaged throughout— not only did we catch impressive fish, but we were also surrounded by dolphins and even saw a manatee swimming close to the boat. He arrived early and suggested a great restaurant that prepared the fish he cleaned for us. We can’t wait to come back next year for another adventure, hopefully!
One star. I booked a six-hour morning trip, but the day before, Captain Charlie informed me of an issue and asked if we could move it to the afternoon. We agreed, but on the day of the trip, he called and changed the start time to 2 PM, reducing the trip to four hours. When we arrived, he was finishing up a six-hour trip with another group—the supposed issue he needed to take care of. For someone claiming to be a veteran, his behavior didn’t meet the level of integrity I expected. While we did catch a few fish, the overall experience was disappointing and not what I paid for.
