About Your Guide

Captain Nick is a lifelong resident of Tampa, having grown up in the area. His passion for fishing began early, thanks to lessons from his mother, and he quickly developed a love for the excellent bass fishing opportunities available in Florida. Over time, he also discovered a strong enthusiasm for saltwater fishing, prompting him to broaden his expertise in that field. With over 15 years of fishing experience, Captain Nick enjoys sharing his extensive knowledge of the local waters with every client he guides.

What sets Captain Nick apart is his commitment to providing outstanding customer service. He understands that a memorable fishing trip requires more than just prime fishing spots, so he puts great effort into ensuring each guest enjoys their time on the water to the fullest. Additionally, he offers flexibility with start locations to accommodate guests’ preferences.

Many guests have praised their experiences with Captain Nick. Clients consistently highlight his deep understanding of the local waters and fish species, as well as his patient, encouraging approach—especially when casting or hooking proves challenging. One visitor recounted catching a notably large black drum, destined for a family dinner, and expressed excitement about returning with friends. Others have shared how much fun they had while fishing for a variety of species, noting his friendly demeanor and expert guidance.

Captain Nick is not only skilled but also dedicated to making fishing enjoyable and educational. He patiently teaches techniques such as fly fishing for redfish, even for anglers familiar with different environments like rivers out west. Guests appreciate his punctuality, the cleanliness of his boat, and his ability to adapt to changing weather conditions while targeting snook and redfish. Although not every outing guarantees a catch, the overall experience with Captain Nick is always positive, filled with camaraderie and learning.

Whether you prefer fly fishing or casting artificial lures, Captain Nick will expertly guide you to some of the Gulf Coast’s best shallow-water fishing spots. With extensive experience navigating these waters, he understands how to interpret the tides, locate fish, and help you land that perfect cast.

This adventure takes you through diverse habitats such as mangrove edges, sand flats, grass flats, and oyster bars—all prime for targeting shallow-water species. Sight casting here demands timing and accuracy, delivering an exciting, heart-pounding experience. You might even catch a glimpse of Tarpon rolling by, giving you a chance to battle one of Florida’s most legendary game fish.

Captain Nick accommodates different fishing styles. Fly anglers will enjoy being poled quietly across the flats in pursuit of cruising fish, while those using spinning gear can expect to cast topwater plugs for thrilling strikes or soft plastics to provoke a bite.

You’ll fish aboard a 2025 17-foot Pilgrim skiff powered by a whisper-quiet 40 HP Yamaha engine. Designed for shallow-water angling, this boat features a casting platform, livewell, fish finder, and a push pole for stealthy fishing in skinny water. It comfortably seats up to two anglers, offering an intimate, hands-on experience.
