About Your Guide

If an authentic South Texas hunting and fishing adventure is what you seek, Joshua is the guide to trust. With a wealth of experience as a tournament fisherman and deep expertise on Falcon Lake, he offers exceptional skill whether you’re aiming for a trophy Gar or trying your luck for bass. But Joshua’s talents don’t end with fishing—he’s equally adept at leading waterfowl hunts throughout the Rio Grande Valley.

Raised locally, Joshua launched his outfitting business in 2021 with a clear mission: to deliver a flexible, fulfilling, and genuine outdoor experience for every guest. Whether hunting on public or private lands, he emphasizes mobility and tracking down where the birds are feeding and flying. His approach is straightforward—some days you’ll fill your limit, others you won’t, but every outing is packed with unique stories, unexpected moments, and memories that last.

Joshua is committed to making each trip interactive, informative, and authentic. Whether you’re a novice or have years of hunting under your belt, he loves sharing insights, learning alongside his clients, and building meaningful connections. Many who venture out with him return not just as customers but as part of an extended family. That sense of community is at the heart of every journey.

Joshua’s family is deeply involved in supporting the operation, and among the hardest workers are Moose and Goose—his devoted Labrador retrievers. Their enthusiasm for retrieving game and friendly nature adds a special touch, often becoming a favorite aspect for kids and first-time hunters alike.

If you desire more than just a simple hunt or fishing day—if you want genuine connection, expert local guidance, and an experience that feels like a second home—you’ll find all that with Joshua. Come for the outdoor adventure, stay for the friendship. You’ll leave enriched with stories, laughter, and maybe even some new traditions.

Fantastic experience! Josh’s expertise and flexibility made our hunt absolutely worth it.

This trip is ideal for anglers eager to target large, aggressive freshwater sportfish in South Texas. You'll spend your time on Falcon Lake, aiming to catch formidable Catfish, Gar, and Largemouth Bass—three exciting species that offer a thrilling challenge for anglers of every skill level.

Each species exhibits unique behaviors and dietary preferences, requiring different fishing strategies. Gar are ambush predators found near the mid-water column, feeding on baitfish, and occasionally small birds or animals with their sharp teeth. To catch these ancient fish, you'll use cut bait on steel leaders, facing a tough fight to bring them aboard. Catfish, on the other hand, are bottom feeders that accept various baits. You'll bottom fish for these powerful fish and battle them using heavier tackle to bring them to the surface. Lastly, Largemouth Bass are opportunistic feeders attracted to worms, baitfish, frogs, and more. You’ll target them with light tackle, casting and retrieving a variety of lures and baits.

Your fishing adventure takes place aboard Captain Joshua's 19-foot boat, which rides high in the water and offers ample shade to keep you cool and comfortable under the Texas sun. Get ready to hit the water and start landing these impressive fish!
