A message from Owner and Operator Steve: From a young age, I developed a deep connection with fishing and the natural environment around me. My fascination with fishing began immediately, and I spent countless hours along rivers, studying the behavior of fish—their diet, hiding spots, and how changes in their surroundings influence their feeding habits. Over time, I mastered various fly fishing techniques and recognized that this passion would become my lifelong pursuit and career. Relocating here 21 years ago placed me at the heart of Central Oregon's pristine waters, offering incredible fly fishing experiences. Living in Bend grants me easy access to diverse fishing environments, from mountain and high desert streams to some of the region’s most renowned rivers.
I tailor my guiding services to anglers of all skill levels, whether you’re new to fly fishing or looking to sharpen your skills and uncover river secrets. Key elements include matching the hatch accurately, presenting flies effectively, and knowing where to find the best fish-holding spots. I am committed to conservation and conduct all trips as catch-and-release, using only barbless hooks to protect native fish populations.
We are flexible with trip starting locations to ensure your comfort and convenience. Steve is a highly skilled guide who dedicates time to teaching specialized fly fishing approaches that consistently deliver success. Many clients, including beginners and seasoned anglers alike, have enjoyed outstanding results, often catching more fish than others on the river. The initial payment for this journey cannot be refunded unless the trip is canceled due to weather conditions. Canceling on the day of the trip or failing to show up will result in the entire remaining trip cost being charged to your card.

There’s nothing quite like the combination of a stunning fishing location, quality gear, and an experienced guide. Steve and his team deliver all of this on memorable full-day or half-day fly fishing trips along the Crooked River. Known for having one of the densest fish populations in the state, the Crooked River offers opportunities to catch trophy-sized trout, including impressive Rainbow trout measuring 18 to 19 inches that Steve has personally hooked.
Whether you’re new to fly fishing or looking to refine your technique, Steve’s expert knowledge of the fish, local hatches, and river conditions ensure a rewarding experience. Throughout your adventure, your guide will capture free photos to document your day on the water. Customized instruction is available for anglers ranging in age from 7 to 70, with Steve dedicated to crafting an enjoyable and successful outing tailored to each individual.
All necessary equipment is provided by Steve and his crew, making it easy to settle in and get comfortable during your 4 or 8-hour session. With expert guidance, you’ll gain confidence in navigating the river and mastering the art of fly fishing.
