About Your Guide

Carson is an experienced fisherman with more than a decade of angling under his belt, driven by a genuine enthusiasm for helping others improve their fishing success. Having explored fishing waters in over 25 states and competed in college-level tournaments, Carson combines practical skills and deep understanding on every outing. His proficiency with cutting-edge fishing technology, including forward-facing sonar, distinguishes him from others—whether your goal is to catch impressive largemouth bass or plentiful crappie, Carson knows how to locate them effectively. Each adventure is tailored to your individual objectives, ability, and the desire for an enjoyable day on the water. So whether you aim to beat your personal record, gather fish for your next cookout, or simply enjoy an exciting day fishing, Carson is ready to deliver a memorable experience. He is also adaptable regarding departure points for your trip.

Carson is a knowledgeable and versatile guide, especially familiar with Lake Tillery. He shares insights about fish behavior and how it influences your chances of catching them, making the experience educational and rewarding. This was my first time using live scan technology, and I was impressed. Live scan allows anglers to observe fish movement and patterns in real-time, significantly boosting the likelihood of a successful catch. I highly recommend Carson for fishing excursions—not just for the quality of his boat and gear but also for his extensive expertise and thoughtful guidance.

Positives: Carson is approachable and easy to get along with.
Areas to improve: The live scan device is positioned at the front of the boat, where space is limited and doesn’t comfortably accommodate two people simultaneously. When using this technology to find fish, arrangements should be in place so all clients can benefit equally. In our trip, we caught 13 fish in total, but Carson was the one who landed them all. When I expressed my disappointment, he responded by saying, “Fishing is about trying, not just catching; sometimes the fish don’t cooperate.” I was paying for an inclusive fishing experience, not just to watch him fish alone. Ideally, the boat should be set up to comfortably seat three people, all with equal access to the tools Carson uses.

In contrast, on a previous guided tour, the captain located the fish and allowed us to catch them ourselves. I regret that this trip didn't meet my expectations. However, when my husband left, he mentioned having a great time and expressed interest in returning this summer. Carson’s boat has ample space at the front deck for three anglers, as many guests before us have experienced. My husband declined to fish from that spot despite several offers. Had he chosen to fish alongside Carson, the outcome might have been different. Carson successfully caught 13 fish in about 30 minutes while instructing my husband. The rest of the day was dedicated to my husband and his father, whom Carson took to the shore to fish seated. Unfortunately, they didn’t catch anything because the fish were offshore, and they were not interested in fishing in that area. I appreciate Carson’s efforts and apologize for any disappointment caused.

Hi Robbie, this is Trey from Captain Experiences. I’m sorry this trip didn’t meet your expectations, and I truly appreciate you sharing your feedback. I’m glad we could discuss things privately and address your concerns. Looking forward to our next fishing adventure!
