He is a certified U.S. Coast Guard Captain with extensive knowledge of the Clearwater and Tampa Bay waters. With a rich understanding of the local history, Jake enjoys sharing fascinating tales throughout your journey. Having grown up fishing these waters from a very young age, he was inspired and mentored by family members who shared their love for the sport.
As a youngster, Jake would cycle more than 20 miles daily searching for the best fishing spots, staying dedicated until he was old enough to drive. At just 16, he purchased his first boat and started earning extra income by selling bait to local shops to fund fishing adventures with friends. Following high school, Jake spent four years working aboard several fishing vessels, gaining valuable experience as a trusted first mate. After fulfilling the necessary requirements, he attended maritime school where he earned his Merchant Mariner Credentials, commonly known as a Captain’s License.
Right after certification, Jake joined Coastal Chaos and quickly became a valued member of the team. Over two years, he conducted numerous trips, building an excellent reputation and strong client base, bolstered by countless positive reviews. Today, Jake fulfills his lifelong dream as the Owner and CEO of Coastal Chaos, bringing his enthusiasm and expertise to every expedition. You can cancel your booking free of charge if you do so at least 7 days before your scheduled trip, and the amount will be credited back to your account. If you cancel less than 7 days prior, your deposit will be retained by the guide. Cancellations made on the day of the trip or failing to show up will result in the full trip cost being charged to your card.
All rods, reels, and tackle are provided, along with the necessary licensing. You're welcome to bring a cooler if you prefer; otherwise, I have a cooler ready with ice for you.

The boat is fully stocked with everything needed for a productive day on the water: rods, reels, tackle, bait, and fishing licenses are all provided. Your only responsibility is to bring along your favorite snacks, drinks, sun protection, and a camera to capture the memories—Captain Jake will handle the rest!
