Baccarac: The Legendary Monster Bass Lake of Mexico
Baccarac Lake is renowned for breaking fishing records, notably when angler Bruce Knutsen caught a colossal 8.66 kg (19 lbs) bass in 1993, setting the Mexican bass record and ranking eighth globally.
Located in the municipality of Sinaloa de Leyva, in the state of Sinaloa, this lake is famous for its bass, often weighed over 10 lbs (5 kg). Its reputation as a top bass fishing destination attracts many anglers from the United States.
The lake provides comfortable lakeside cabins equipped with all the essentials for a memorable fishing trip. Visitors can access boats, professional guides, fishing gear, a restaurant, and transportation services. A highlight of the experience is the regionally acclaimed Mexican cuisine offered at the lodge.
Guests benefit from a flexible cancellation policy with a one-week notice. The bass fishing experience includes two 5-hour sessions, morning from 6:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. and afternoon from 2:30 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. Each booking includes a boat guided for two people, one night's accommodation at the lodge, beverages on board, meals, an icebox with ice, fishing rods, reels, tackles, and transportation between Los Mochis, Lake Baccarac, and Mazatlán.
