Captain Byron, based out of Clems Marina on the Upper Laguna Madre, has been fishing these waters for over 34 years. Growing up along the coast, guiding was always a dream, and he eventually made it his full-time profession while still enjoying it as a passion. You can cancel without any charges up to three days prior to your scheduled trip and the amount will be refunded as credit to your account. If you cancel within three days of the trip, your deposit will be non-refundable and given to the guide. Cancelations made on the day of the trip or if you fail to show up will result in a charge of the full trip cost to your payment method.
We provide all rods, reels, and tackle for your convenience. However, we suggest you also bring sunglasses, sunscreen, clothing suitable for the weather, and any personal gear you prefer to use during the trip.
We will be fishing in the waters extending from the upper Laguna Madre down towards the southern end of Baffin Bay. Our fishing approach involves using bait such as croaker, shrimp, or menhaden from the boat in specific spots that I have found productive. Early in the morning, when conditions are favorable, we’ll primarily target trout. As the trout activity diminishes by mid-morning, we’ll transition to fishing for drum and redfish. This will involve soaking baits on sandy bottoms to entice redfish and drum. Please note, there are no restroom facilities available, so dress appropriately for the weather conditions.
